Privacy Policy for BürgerTest
This Privacy Policy explains how Boring AI Technologies Pty Ltd ("we", "us") handles information when you use the BürgerTest mobile app for iOS (the "App").
The App is fully usable without any account, sign-up, email address, or internet connection. All your study progress, test history, and settings are stored only on your device.
1. What we collect
We do not collect personally identifiable information. No name, email address, phone number, account, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, calendar, health data, financial data, precise location, advertising identifier, or browsing history outside the App is collected or sent anywhere.
To operate the App and improve it, we collect a small amount of anonymous data:
- anonymous product analytics (which screens are used, when learning or test sessions start and finish, language toggles);
- approximate location (city or region) derived from the network address of each event;
- crash reports and basic performance information.
None of this is linked to your identity. We do not sell or share your data, and the App contains no advertising.
2. Third-party processors
We use two service providers, each bound by a data-processing agreement:

- Sentry for crash and performance reporting. Privacy policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/
Both are based in the United States. Each processor's default retention periods apply, as set out in their own privacy policies linked above.
3. Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another region covered by the GDPR or a comparable law, the legal basis we rely on is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating the App, fixing bugs, and improving the product.
The data described above is anonymous and is operationally necessary to keep the App stable and improvable. It cannot be turned off independently inside the App.
4. Your rights
We do not collect personally identifiable information, so neither we nor our processors can locate or delete the data belonging to a specific person. To stop all further collection from your device, uninstall the App.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA / CPRA. The App contains no advertising. Because the data we collect is not linked to an identifiable individual, we cannot action verifiable consumer requests tied to a specific person.
5. Data transfers
Our processors are operated from the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of the anonymous data described above to the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

7. Children's privacy
The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The App requires no account and stores no identifying information.
8. Changes to this policy
If we materially change this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, surface a notice inside the App.

BürgerTest follows the official Einbürgerungstest format administered by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). The App is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by BAMF or the German federal government.
